Is the ebuild for Blender the newest stable version? Hehh I don't even know what the latest version is. Tried to find out and their website seems to be having problem right now. Thanx. |

I don't think it is. Last time I checked 2.25 was available. Though it might have been unstable version. |

I believe that 2.25 is the most stable release, but it is not gnu gpl. Recently the blender people ran a campaign to buy the source code from the holding company (NaN something or other) for $100,000. They were able to raise the capital and are currently organizing the codebase for a release. After this release comes than gentoo can have a "proper" ebuild that builds from source. Check out www.blender.org for the latest news and info. Good technology behind this product, but IMHO the interface needs a lot of work. Hopefully this will be worked on with the release of the source. Cheers!
