I don't have reiserfs built as a module, or directly into the kernel. But when I do the above emerge, it seems to want to install reisefsprogs. Is this right? |

I did that earlier just to see what it would update. I hadn't done it before, so I was curious. Wanted to add reiserfs something for me too. |

I see this too, at first I had reiser-utils installed and thought it was because I had this, so I removed it (I didnt need it since I have no reiser filesystems) and did another pretend update yet it still showed.
I've now given in and let it install, but in all honesty I dont need it and I really dont want it. |

I'm starting to suspect an evil plot by Reiser to get us to use his file system! |

reiserfsprogs is by default one of "system", you can modify
/etc/make.profile/packages, using "#" to mark off it.
but a emerge rsync makes it turned on. |
