|
i've got a ps/2 generic wheel mouse. i don't remember when this started, but it's been pretty bad lately. when i start x for the first time after rebooting it will almost always bring up my desktop, but the mouse will not work. i can move it, but it moves in the wrong directions and "clicks" when i'm not clicking. it's weird. i kill x and start it up again.. it will either do the same thing or i will not be able to move or click my mouse at all.
usually after this i will have to restart x a lot until i get a working mouse. i'm talking like 10-20+ tries before it will work. this is really frustrating. has anyone seen this problem? here's what i have in my XF86Config-4 for the mouse:
Code: |
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "IMPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection
|
Anyone have any ideas? I'm stuck.[/code] |

Have you tried another mouse? Or tried wiggling the ps/2 connecter in the motherboard a little. Sounds like it might be a hardware thing. |

Also, you may want to try and enter the dpi of the mouse into the Xconfig by hand. _________________ Face it, we are all noobs.
On the box it said it was designed for Win XP or better, so why won't it work with Linux? |
