I'm having some issues installing the software required to implement a VPN client on 2.4.19-r6 on ppc. Specifically, I've been attempting to install the pptpclient following the instructions at both http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net and http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=19822&highlight=pptp. The mppe patch is the issue. I've successfully patched my kernel source with linux-2.4.19-openssl-0.9.6b-mppe.patch, but when I attempt to compile the modfule I get the following error:
depmod: Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.19-r6/kernel/drivers/net/ppp_mppe.o
depmod: __floatsidf
depmod: __adddf3
My understanding is that the module is looking for libfloat (I think it's a software FPU implementation), but I can't understand why since I've got a real FPU.
Has anyone else successfully created a VPN connection via gentoo on ppc? Is there another package that I should use instead?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanx,
