I've added some entries using xmodmap to assign mappings to the "Stop", "Again" etc keys on my type 6 keyboard, but within KDE, when I try to assign keymappings to these keys, they just seem to get ignored. - ie in Keyboard Shortcuts, if I select the keymap I want to make and then press one of the special keys (eg Cut), nothing happens (with few exceptions).
Running xev reports that I've setup xmodmap correctly because the xev shows the keysyms I've assigned.
The only one that definately works is SunPowerSwitch which I've assiged to Logoff.
xmodmap settings....
Code: | keycode 245 = Help
keycode 232 = SunStop
keycode 133 = SunAgain
keycode 134 = SunProps
keycode 135 = SunUndo
keycode 140 = SunFront
keycode 248 = SunCopy
keycode 191 = SunOpen
keycode 192 = SunPaste
keycode 122 = SunFind
keycode 188 = SunCut
keycode 160 = SunAudioMute SunVideoDegauss
keycode 174 = SunAudioLowerVolume SunVideoLowerBrightness
keycode 176 = SunAudioRaiseVolume SunVideoRaiseBrightness
keycode 222 = SunPowerSwitch SunPowerSwitchShift

It's nothing critial, I just thought that since they're there, it would be nice to be able to use them. |
