|

Hello,
Im building a Sparc system with gentoo, I have a server that takes care of apache, cvs, mail, etc. And the other is a developing station (or pretends to be), I'm planning on turning this computer into a LTS (linux terminal server, using Xvnc). And would also like to get a decent and portable developing suite. I thought of kdevelop as I think it has the most wide range of languajes/projects.
I have a minimalistic X environement, xfce4, anjuta and firefox, and that's it. I would like, for space and procesor sake, to keep it as fast and simple as possible.
I also have distcc for parallel compiling.
Both stations are Sparc Ultra 10s 128Mb and ~300Mhz.
Now to the problem part, when I try to emerge kdevelop, I get a lot of dependencies that doesn't seem to belong :
Code: |
aqua root # ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~sparc" USE="-java" emerge kdevelop -pv
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

I can see a lot of sound related stuff that I would like not to have to install... My emerge --info is :

Notice that I use a USE="-java" in the command line...
So, does anyone know how to get rid of those annoying dependencies?
thanks. _________________ The heart has reasons that the reason will never understand.

try using ufed to check out the use flags, strip out flags that support sound stuff and add in "nosound" etc possibly even manually adding -sound as a useflag.
if all else fails, just try and compile it with the sound stuff or use emerge --nodeps _________________ -Tim Smith |
