Odd problem here. X worked just fine. Rebooted a few times, worked... Rebuilt X, KDE, fluxbox, etc, worked... Then, it stopped working.
I've got a generic GeF2 MX.
Starting seeing the Speedo error, but it probaby doesnt really mean anything.
Tried re-emerging XFree, back and forth between 4.2.0 and 4.2.1, no help.
When I try the nv kernel drivers, I see the splash screen, then it bombs right after that.
Tried to xf86config a few times to a regular fresh driver, which I should
at least be able to xinit, no good.
No error messages whatsoever.
last message I see in /var/log/Xfree86.0.log is
(II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "Mouse1" (type: Mouse)
Anyone have any ideas? Since there are no error messages, Im at a loss to what may be causing it. It worked just fine for a couple of days when I initially installed the box.
Thanks! |

what type of mouse have you got? what are your XF86Config mouse settings?
Have you installed the NVdriver kernel & driver? have you changed XF86Config to use the new driver? _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)

Standard generic PS/2 Mouse... Mouse settings are
Section "InputDevice"
Identifer "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "PS/2"
Option "/dev/mouse"
Tried with both the NVdriver kernel and nvidia driver, and with the standard nv driver that comes out of the box with a xf86config |

Thanks! |
