Love this forum and gentoo, but something I have a real problem with is LIK.
This is totally against what gentoo stands for and this is just a persecution agains a member that they don't like. If you don't like a person just say so, or ignore them. Starting a club against that person is IMHO a real shitty thing to do and something need to be done about it. I'd rather read spams than see this crap.
Supposedly is supposed to stand for Lets Ignore Kihaji but if you want ignore him you should:
1. Just ignore him. Don't start a club for it.
2. Don't participate in discussions in which Kihaji discusses.
Thanks for listening. _________________ 72 of Pitcairn Islands 49 inhabitants use Seti@Home

Don't really care if you want to pay attention to him or not. I've seen some very good posts from him, and some very bad. It's the LIK or PAK thing I'm opposing. _________________ 72 of Pitcairn Islands 49 inhabitants use Seti@Home

I considered the whole thing a semi-joking matter (and I think he took it this way, looking at his own signature), not as like an actual "club" type thing. But despite our fundamentally differing views, I still think he has a right to say what he wants. So before even more people start thinking that the LIK thing was an actual "club", I'll be taking it out of my sig, I hope others follow. I can see this whole thing blown out of proportion as things sometimes happen to on the forums. _________________ Nothing can stop me now, cuz I just don't care. |

I saw the first post and also took it as a joke. No harm in that. But when it started to spread I think it got ugly. Not only is it IMHO an insult to Kihaji but also an indication to new members that it is in fact not wise to listen to him. Ever. Not good. _________________ 72 of Pitcairn Islands 49 inhabitants use Seti@Home

Personally I feel its very immature and anyone who has a *LIK* in their sigs is a hypocrite. They are all a bunch of signature trolls. _________________ I am never wrong. I am simply misinterpreted.

| I have have pretty much the same sentiments of everyone that has posted, so I'm not going to restate. But if it requires more people's support to have something done about it, you have mine. |

Reminds me of the Weird Al song "I Was Only Kidding." That's become too convenient of a defense nowadays.

I think it's hilarious also, I put it in my sig for awhile to lower the validity of it so it would be seen as a joke.
Some people actually believe it, doesn't bother me, if someone new is going to ignore the answer/advice I give simply because of a sig, then they weren't very open to my answer/advice in the first place. Plus, I don't see this affecting the rest of the boards sections, people in Programming and Installing sections pay less attention to a sig, and more to the info, which is good. |
