Hi!

I've got an i830 which need to be started with 8bpp before later switching to 16bpp+. I wrote an "/etc/init.d/i830" which "needs" xdm and replaces the 8bpp XF86Config by the 16bpp XF86Config. Unfortunately the xdm script ends before X is really started, thus the config gets copied before X was started with 8bpp for the first time.

Any hints?

bye
