Too large windows in KDE3.0.4

Hi,
I have emerged KDE3.0.4 in 1.4RC1 and some windows (mainly the hint windows that pop up when you start Konsole or another KDE app and Kportage) appear extremely large, many times larger than my screen width.
As it is not possible to maximise them to my screen dimension, it becomes very difficult to go through them (this is especially true for kportage).

Do you know if there is a way to tell KDE to avoid creating such large windows?

Or should I simply stop the pop up windows and move to another portage GUI?

I can confim this...I have had the same problem since Gentoo 1.2 with KDE 3.03...and same with now, 1.4rc1 with KDE 3.04...

That doesn't seem too too natural...I just stop the pop up from showing, but still, its not supposed to be that way
