I use winex for games, now I installed Half-life, the latest update and counterstrike with no problems
but when I try to start half-life, cs or TFC, my screen just pops off and on a few times and then I get

I also installed Starcraft with winex, and it runs perfect, so I guess its not in the config. But during the install of starcraft it said that there was a old version of directx detected (version 2.0) and it would update it to 5.0
Now I don't know if he updated directx but SC works perfect.
IF directx is the problem, I know that HL uses at least version 6.0 of directx, is there a linux version of directx that I need to install ?[/code] |

Hi ya... I've just picked up the half life pack generations and it all installed perfectly.. but I had in order to get the game to play you need to run it (from the half life directory) with this command line
winex hl.exe -- hl.exe -console
Hopefully that should sort you out.. with Half-Life, Opposing Forces and Team Fortress.. unfortunately Blue Shift isn't working in winex yet.. |

what are the pack generations?
is it some type of budle of installtion files or something?
i had to install hl and then cstrike and the cstrike.exe did not get there and a whole big mess....

| Half-life generation is a 4 disc box set containing HL, Counter Strike, Blue Shirt and Opposing Forces... I managed to pick it up in a two for one sale allong with Quake 3 Arena and Quake 3 Team Arena.. |
