I have NO idea how this happened, but I have one desktop that is all KDE (background, icons, and taskbar), and I have one desktop that is half KDE, half Gnome. (Gnome background, icons; KDE taskbar).
How the heck did I manage to do this? |

somehow nautilus has taken over one of your desktops.
run nautilus, find the option which says 'have nautilus draw your desktop' and uncheck it. |
