I've searched and posted in this forum trying to know if there is anyway to set up java plugin to use ESD instead of accessing /dev/dsp directly.
As the ones that replied didnt know how, I'd like to disable sound in java plugin so it wont "steal" /dev/dsp" from ESD..
anyway to do this...?
thank you |

Do you use KDE?
If yes, try shutting alsa down, and using dmix _________________ "Never argue with and idiot cuz he bring you down to his level and beat you with experience" |

Sorry to dig up an old post, but did anyone get a solution to this? I have this problem too and can't seem to get firefox to use alsa dmix at all . It means I can't listen to music whilst playing on pokerroom.com! _________________ AMD64 3200+, 1024MB RAM, Gentoo Linux

emerge alsa-oss, then start firefox with "aoss firefox".
This should work, although there is no guarantee that it does. |
