| Has anyone given KDE 3.1 beta2 a shot on ppc? I seem to remember giving beta1 a shot and ran into some problems with some x86 assembly obviously not wanting to build... any successes with beta2? |

I got it to compile with gcc 3.2 on my G4.
Well, these packages:
arts
kdeadmin
kdeartwork
kdebase
kdebindings
kdeedu
kdegames
kdegraphics
kdelibs
kdenetwork
kdepim
kdetoys
kdeutils
Only kdemultimedia won't compile. Hadn't put any effort into fixing though. Of course without kdemultimedia, kdeaddons will not install properly as there are noatun plugins and others it would like to see on your system. The tyler plug-in seems to be broken in kdeaddons. It won't compile on any of my x86 counterparts (total 4) and I have friends in the same boat. I just remove it from the tarball.
Otherwise, kde 3.1 beta2 is working fine since last saturday. It takes a while to compile.
I also have an ebuild I made to have the Opera 6.1 tp1 install on PPC. It uses QT3 and works great so far.
If you need help, I'll try to assist.
regards,
